HARD TIMES------STRONG WOMEN------GREAT ADVENTURE

That's what you'll find in these historical novels, which present the saga of Irish immigrant Kathleen Connelly, her daughters Megan and Danielle, granddaughter Bridget, and the men in their lives. Locales include Ireland, the American West, the California Gold Rush country, the Sierra Nevada Mountains, San Francisco, and Hong Kong. The Connelly women battle enemies at home and abroad as they build empires in ranching, mining, and shipping.
The series starts in 1847 with "Angel of the Gold Rush", continues in 1867 with "Angel's Daughter", and concludes in 1884 with "Legacy of Angels". The Connelly women, while not superhuman, are characterized by tremendous courage, integrity, and determination as they deal with jealous foes among Native Americans, Hong Kong Triads, and the builders of the Central Pacific Railroad. Each book is complete in itself, but the second and third continue the story.

From the author: Welcome to my books, which all feature what I like to call formidable females: hotheaded, impulsive, and emotional, but very strong and possessed of great integrity and determination. Cross them and you may not live to tell the tale.
A bit about me: I hold Bachelor's degrees from Washington State University and Brooks Institute. I am proud to count Irish and Scottish immigrant blood, as well as a bit of Cherokee, in my heritage. I am a member of the Historical Novels Society, Women Writing the West, Webring Historical Fiction Online, and the Google Book Partnership Program. I have a particular fascination with the late American West (1865-1900). More novels for that period are planned.--B. J. Scott
